| In 1880, the lute manufacturer, Don Abdon Addad, goes to Spain from Syria, bringing with him all his knowledge in the art of hand-building guitars, art inherited from his father Dadda, while he starts nourishing himself from the techniques of the most prestigious Luthiers of that country. |

In 1890 he comes to Argentina, where his surname is translated as Herrera. Once settled down in the Province of San Juan he develops his knowledge at the guitar Luthier’s shop which he passes on to his descendants, who uninterruptedly have continued with his work until the fourth generation, whose leader is at present Master Roberto Herrera, followed by his sons, Daniel, David and Rodolfo. |
